MPA Maritime Bus Experience

Inviting our younger generation to see their place in our maritime future

How do we get the younger generation to imagine a place for themselves in Singapore’s maritime future? In conjunction with Singapore’s bicentennial year in 2019, we designed and executed a MPA Maritime Bus experience to bring our maritime story direct to schools and community spaces around Singapore.

The exhibition roved for 6 months and reached out to over 15,000 visitors.

Each section incorporates multi-sensory exhibits such as tactile displays and interactive digital games to incentivise engagement.

To appeal to the young audience, we designed four characters to lead the exhibition experience.

Visitors were invited to select a character to journey with by choosing a personalised activity booklet.

Through a personal quiz visitors can find out their unique Maritime character roles, encouraging them to see this as a part they could play in Singapore’s Maritime future.

Students also learnt to make their own nautical knot bracelets at a fringe activity station.
